The Portuguese Golden Visa Breaks New Records in 2016
According to the official figures that have been issued by the Portuguese immigration authorities, SEF, the number of the Portuguese Golden Visa’s that has been granted in the initial period of the third quarter of 2016 alone had already exceeded the total number of the Portuguese Golden Visa’s issued in the whole of 2015.
In only the six month period up to the 30th of June 2016, there had already been a total of eight hundred and twenty one Golden Visa’s approved. That was already more than the total number of the Portuguese Golden Visa’s approved and issued in all of 2015.

New Fast Track Processing for the Portuguese Golden Visa in 2016
A new, fast track procedure, by which the clients who have submitted their full documentation could be processed for the Portuguese Golden Visa in no more than three months, has been introduced in early 2016.

2016 – A Record Year for the Portuguese Golden Visa
With a total of fifteen hundred and twenty six Portuguese Golden Visas already issued by SEF, the Portuguese immigration authorities, this year, 2016, already looks set to break the previous record for the number of the Portuguese Golden Visa’s issued in a year, which was previously set in 2014.
So far, ninety four percent of all the Portuguese Golden Visa residency permit investments have been into the Portuguese property market, while the remaining six percent of all the investments for the golden residency permits have been into venture capital funded investments or into the Portuguese job market for the purpose of job creation.
Since its launch in 2012, the Portuguese Golden Visa program has so far brought two-point-two billion Euros worth of investments into Portuguese infrastructure, economy, and the country as a whole.
