The city of Lisbon tops the rankings of the favourite destinations for property market in Europe in 2019.
Even as the whole world is looking at the country of Portugal and its well heeled property market, the city of Lisbon did not rank among the top ten favourite property market destinations in Europe in 2018. For the year of 2019, however, the situation has changed drastically – the capitol city of the country of Portugal is now at the top ranking of the emerging trends in the real estate market study conducted and published by the PwC consultancy agency, along with the Urban Land Institute.
The study, which has also listed the cities of Berlin, Munich, Dublin, Vienna, Madrid, Helsinki, Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Amsterdam, has pointed to the relatively low prices of property, the high possibility of sizable and reliable returns, and the quality of life as the major reasons that had led the capitol of Portugal to the first place on their list.
César Damião, the founding partner of the Global Trust
and a specialist in the international property market investment has explained that
– Portugal now has a very positive set of factors for investors: political stability, a rapidly recovering economy and long-term prospects for sustainable growth and dynamic markets. Even if it appreciates at an accelerated rate, around 10% per year, real estate will still maintain this upward trend for the next few years, as demand is high. –
The Portuguese Golden Visa Program
The property market in the country of Portugal has attracted great numbers of stakeholders with different profiles, that the offer of apartments has diversified. Until very recently, the city of Lisbon had basically had mostly old buildings, some of which have been renovated and modernised, but still maintaining the original facade and architecture. Today, there are options for new condominiums with complete infrastructures such as – garages, elevators, leisure areas, swimming pools and even services for the people who live there.
There is also a wide public interest in the Portuguese Golden Visa program – a residency visa program that the European country offers to those who, for example, purchase a property of at least five hundred thousand Euros -. As the country of Portugal belongs to the European Union, the person with a Portuguese Golden Visa can live with their family legally in any country of the bloc.
